Dear Donovan families,
As we enter the second week of Advent, we turn our hearts toward peace—a peace that reminds us that God is with us in every challenge we face. At Donovan, we see that peace grow because our students encourage one another, our teachers guide with patience, and our community surrounds each student with love and compassion. May this second week of Advent help our community remember that Christ walks beside us on both ordinary days and demanding ones.

These weeks before exams and Advent are similar in that they both are times of preparation for what is to come. This week, Advent focuses on peace. However, unlike Advent, peace is usually not the first word that pops into most of our minds when we think of exams. Instead, thoughts of nervousness, anxiety, fear, and doubting our own abilities to succeed seem to be more common. For our students: I pray that as the end-of-semester anxieties begin to rise this week in anticipation of your exams that you will give your doubts and worries to God and lean into the peace that He brings.
Peace be with you always,
Dr. Walker
